The Effect on the Median Nerve¡¯s Motor Nerve Conduction Velocity Due to a Changing Cutaneous Temperature
Kim Byung-Weon

Abstract
In this study we evaluated the effect of a changing cutaneous temperature on the motor nerve conduction velocity (MNCV) of the median nerve. We measured the MNCV of the median mortar nerve of heathy subjects in their twenties. From our results, we know that the MNCV of the median nerve decreases as the cutaneous temperature decreases. This result is especially noticeable with females, as their MNCV decreased about 5.4% more than with males. Also it was shown that the latency and amplitude of median nerve were increased by a cold cutaneous temperature. Our results can be used as a reference point to check for abnormalities of a patient¡¯s medial nerve.
